The Rush W-Reserves
Register for 2015 Rush Reserves Here

This is both a direct part of our first team, our W-League team, and is a serious training program. The Reserve program will begin in May but take place mostly in June and the first half of July. The program is meant for the committed player. Period. The program offers an opportunity to improve individual technique (finishing, dribbling, passing, etc.) and small group tactics (i.e. 1v1, 2v1, 1v2, 2v2, 4v4, etc.). It is not team training though there are team components. The training is based upon developing each individual player. Players in the W-Reserve program are eligible to be called into first team. (One player was pulled up last year from this program to play on the first team.) Most sessions will run simultaneous or back to back with the first team.

Colin Clark (DOC Seniors) and Russell Finch (DOC Youth Girls) are the assistant coaches for the W-League first team and will lead the W-Reserve team.

Colin is a proud Rush alumnus who joined the Rush at age 15. Colin led his team to a state championship three times, and won the regional championship once. He was a part of the Region IV ODP team for 4 years. He later attended SMU on a scholarship and played 3 years before leaving to become a professional. Colin started his professional career at home for the Colorado Rapids, spent four and a half seasons with the club scoring 10 goals to go with 10 assists in 84 games. He spent the following two and a half seasons with the Houston Dynamo playing in 43 games tallying 5 goals and 3 assist. His last professional season was in LA for the Galaxy where he played 11 games. The highlight of his career came on July 11th 2009 when he was capped by the full U.S. Men’s National team during the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Russell played his Freshman year at West Texas A&M and three years at Cal State San Bernardino.  He spent 8 years coaching in So Cal where he was nominated for Cal South’s Coach of the Year in 2005, before moving to Atlanta to be the Technical Director of Georgia Rush.  Russell holds UEFA B and USSF B licenses as well as USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and is Coerver certified.

The W-Reserve team will be confirmed after tryouts on May 4th. All interested players must register (;;Type=PLAYER) and attend the May 4 tryout. Players (ECNL and college) will be considered firstly for the W-League team and then secondly for the W-Reserve team. I expect all ECNL players who are willing to commit to be selected for the Reserve Team at a minimum. If a player who has registered is not selected then their registration fee will be returned.
